“The contemporary artist is a creator
of multidimensional spaces in which objective reality and subjective perception blend to generate a new visual semantics”
James Turrell
The unstable subject
Roxy Deva starts from nature and its proportions to develop an introspective concept where the image of nature itself is reinterpreted in a social context. This gives rise to a dialogue with the observer, rich in insights and shared reflections on the human experience. The subjects are represented in a dynamic, elusive, or in-progress, like images or shapes within one another, akin to a kind of matryoshka. Shifting color frequencies echo the contemporary sense of rapid transformation, continuous change, and uncertainty. The final visual result is not meant to be defined and almost lands on pareidolia.
Since her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Roxy Deva has been exploring multimedia and the new languages of art.
